Algae fuel at the pump!
So I'm in the middle of researching for my capstone (algae fuels) and just stumbled across this video. In a few areas in California, Propel and Solazyme are teaming up to sell algae fuels at the pump! They produce both B20 (biodiesel blend, 20% algae and 80% diesel) and E85. Awesome

Bangkok Standard Chartered 10k
This morning I woke up at a crisp 4:30 AM to run the the Bangkok Standard Chartered 10K! W and I signed up for it a month or two ago, and began running around a park near our apartments a majority of the week. So we caught a cab and headed downtown!
Standing at the starting line waiting for the race to start (15 minutes late- Thai time) was one of the most claustrophobic moments of my life. I couldn't shift my weight from one foot to another without hitting five people around me.
But moving on. The race was through downtown and we even ran across this bridge which was pretty cool. Wilton luckily took pictures along the way with her iPhone, so here some of them are!

to the coolest 20 year old I know.
HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY to the (cutest) sister!!
My mom used to tell me that I had the sweetest and nicest little sister ever, but obviously I thought my mom was just saying that because she is the favorite. Which is still true, but she is definitely the sweetest. Whenever we text I always end up giggling for 10 minutes (in my room, by myself), and it makes my day. I know I can't be there today, but we can celebrate as soon as I get home and I can bake some awesome cupcakes (since we both know how your and mom's baking turns out....hehe)! Hope you have a wonderful birthday Court, I miss you tons!10 November 2012
Stress?
Welll hey there. This blog post is actually proof of my procrastination. Nevertheless, felt the need to update on my life here in Bangkok.
I know it seemed like earlier this year all I did was travel, and you guys are all like 'uh hello, I thought you were studying living abroad?' Well, the studying has commenced.
With a term project on the Life Cycle Assessment of Diesel as a transportation fuel in Thailand, a LCA final on Monday, and my capstone (the culmination of my experiences and knowledge as an environmental science major) all due next week- life is a little crazy absolutely insane. Yes some if it is actually interesting, but researching inputs and outputs for fertilizer is never what I thought I would be doing when I picked a capstone on transportation fuels from algae. But, learning experiences.
Trying to see the light at the end of this three week crazy-person tunnel, but so far the new Ellie Goulding album and in particularly this song is the only thing helping (and the picture my dad just sent me of himself in my new car!!)
And also, the trips I have planned for December! W, MK, and I will be heading up to Chiang Mai the beginning of December, staying for a few days (and hopefully playing with elephants) and then going to a gorgeous beach called Railay that my Thai TA told me when he first went he couldn't believe he was still in Thailand. Beyond pumped...!!! If I can make it past the next two weeks. Cross your fingers for me?

Halloween- Bangkok Style!
This will be a short, picture filled post, mainly because there isn't that much I can tell you about what we did on Halloween.
After a quick trip to the Weekend Market (JJ) the weekend before to acquire costume items, the celebration began at Wilton and MK's apartment with delicious "party mix" and a Halloween coconut courtesy of MK's artistic skills.

Costumes ranged from elephant, to Muay Thai boxers, to a lumberjack and Superheros. Here's a few pics.
