Next we kind of stumbled upon the Town Square, a very ornate building with an interesting clock with figurines that danced around a circle at noon.
We then walked to St. Peter's, another apparently famous church of Munich. We could only walk in for a few minutes because of a tight schedule but it was really pretty inside. Lots of Baroque style paintings and sculptures.
Because the Munich Residence didn't open until 9, we walked around the gardens behind the Residence. It used to be a castle, then a palace of sorts and has a gorgeous huge garden attached. It reminded me of the Queen of Hearts garden in Alice in Wonderland...
Finally, the Residence opened. We bought tickets for both the main museum that's a tour of the Residence, and for the Treasury. Unfortunately we had to rush through the end because we ran out of time. It was absolutely humongous.
Last but not least was another meal in a bier garten and a stroll through the daily market they have. It was one of the biggest I've seen, with things from flowers to meats, produce to cheese, candy to honey. I could have spent hours wandering around!
Tomorrow we head to Brugge and after that Amsterdam!
