Salzburg day two

Yesterday we spent exploring the city again. It was rainy and cold, per usual. First we went to the old city fortress, it's huge and you can see it from basically anywhere in the city.  We took a short audio tour and then explored on our own. There was an amazing view at the top- you could see the entire city. 

 

After that we ate lunch at the Stiegl brewery right around the corner. I got a spinach and feta strudel that was amazing, and a lemon radler- part beer part lemonade. It basically just tastes really fruity and lemony.

Post-lunch we decided to walk to Mozart's house, he was born and lived in Salzburg.  His house is now a museum, but unfortunately it talks nothing about his life, just paintings of him. Many paintings that are well known as Mozart are actually not him at all. 

After this we wandered back to our hotel and took the usual daily nap. We ended up heading out a few hours later for the oldest wine tavern in Austria! It seemed to be filled with locals. They even had a record player you could use with songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. After that we went to S'Nockerl, a restaurant with the original nockerl, an Austria dessert similar to a meringue but super fluffy with raspberry goo at the bottom. It was strange, and delicious. You can't really tell from the picture but it's weird.
