München

...or Munich!  Arrived in Munich today around 2 PM to rainy cold weather- what a surprise! After running some necessary errands (like making train reservations and finding our hotel) we set out to look at a few things close to our hotel. 

There was basically no one out walking around besides us, which was nice in a way. We found/stumbled upon a botanical garden we'd wanted to walk around. We did a quick lap and quickly walked inside the Höfbrauhaus- a beer garden (but obviously we sat inside). We got pretzels with a "original Bavarian cheese dip" that reminded me of pimento cheese and beer (duh). 

We headed back into the rain and walked towards Karlsplatz, a pedestrian area with lawns where the old town walls of Munich used to be. There were three old buildings (two of which are museums and were closed) and the other which was a really pretty archway with large columns. It kind of reminded me of DC. 

Dinner was our last stop of the day, and we ate at Löwenbräukeller a few blocks down.  I got a vegetable plate with cheese on top! 

Tomorrow were going to Neuschwanstein, the Bavarian castle Cinderella's castle was based off of!
