Salzburg

Hello from Austria!  Our train left Zürich at 10 PM and arrived in Salzburg at 4 AM...we arrived at the hotel and were told (in what I believe was Italian) that we couldn't check in until 2 PM. So naturally we crashed on the chairs in the lobby and slept for a few more hours.

We then headed out to look for some sort of bus tour, and stumbled upon a huge farmers market on the way. Clothes, cheeses, meats, produce, and all the bread you can imagine. Unfortunately I didn't have time to buy anything but I was eyeing these pretzels.

We hopped on the van tour and saw a brief view of Salzburg. Including Mozart's birthplace, his house, a famous old nunnery, shopping areas, the Von Trapp house from the Sound of Music and where they filmed the backyard, along with some gorgeous gardens that had "trick fountains."

After taking a much needed nap we set out to wander around the city. One thing I've noticed in multiple cities in Europe is lock bridges, where couples put a lock on a bridge.

We also saw a really cool church that is absolutely ginormous!

The end.
